Beach House Modern Addition and Renovation

A contemporary addition to this Fire Island, New York beach cottage. We added a dramatic new lounging and dining area, while the interior of the existing cottage was entirely updated.

Oversized sliding glass doors connect the interior space to the outdoors, where a new deck courtyard, beautifully shaded by trees, allows for relaxation or entertaining.

Pickled wood floors and walls, poured concrete hearth, glass tile walls, and hand-painted cabinets give the interiors a light, breezy, beachy atmosphere. Skylights between the warm wood ceilings bring in additional sunlight, contributing a warm feeling to the open, airy floor plan. Complete with pops of color by way of accent lighting fixtures and bar stools, the renovated kitchen and dining area serve as a lively, unique space for hosting guests.

The fusion of cedar ceilings, cedar and metal clad exterior, and stone bathroom floors provide a contrast of materials, producing an overall feeling of refined elegance.
